Yet another successful trip to New England this month to photograph lighthouses, nautical images, and landscape photography. This is my first daylight test of the Pentax ist-D. The camera performed fairly well - that is, this camera should be left on manual "everything" and let me shoot the best results. I'll let the rest of the photography world go chasing their own tails to find a camera which thinks for them; while, I still enjoy the discipline of manual focus and manual exposure.
I have updated many of my first b/w images with color digital. My first attempts at b/w landscape were a bit unsharp, which I attest to being hand-held. I took it up a notch by using a tripod, but the performance of my $70 zoom lens has presented a limit of resolution and detail beyond 30 feet or so. I am saving my pennies for some equipment upgrades (donations accepted - or, better yet, buy a photo).
