I have cleaned up the website this past weekend. Long over-due was a unified file naming scheme to include new additions, such as digital images and landscape images, or digital landscape. I had originally written hbutz.com to be a website dedicated to black and white fine-art nudes. But, I am finding that there's a big world out there, outside of the studio.
The majority of files on this website follow this 8.3 filename convention: hxxabbcc.jpg / .gif. where: (h) is for Henri, xx is a series identifier to help me locate the model's 18 U.S.C. 2257 information or "nr" for no release required, (a) is the year, 0..9 represent 1990 thru 1999, a..e represent 2000 thru 2004. (bb) is the month, 01 thru 12, and (cc) is the number of the frame taken in that month (max of 99). Jpeg's are used for the primary image, gif's for the thumbnails - mostly I use gif thumbnails to reduce the color pallet and reduce bandwidth. If you see an 'a' or 'b' tacked onto the end, it's an alternative size. Most jpeg's are either 640x480 or 800x600, which helps in the display scripting.
The nicest thing about the file naming convention is the addition of digital prints. They begin with a (d) instead of an (h). I am giving a big price break on the sale of digital images, since there is no "wet darkroom" work. Photography is so much easier when I don't have to lock myself in an unventilated darkroom all weekend. And, I pass the savings onto you. Click on "Purchase" on the color digital images and you will see a big difference in price, compared to the fine-art black and white's. I think people on the Internet relate more to color digital, anyway. Perhaps I can reach more people with my color images.
It's been a long while since I've swept out The Morgue (file archives). There's just no good way to keep up a system of photographs which were deleted from the main site, or never made it. Most are flawed, or are poor scans, or are some stuff I did back in my college days. But, every image means something to me and I hate to just dust it under the carpet.
I have made some additional tweaks to the modeling application. That form is always changing to reach out to as many people as possible. To tell the truth, I piss off a lot of people with that form. I used to have a link to McDonald's employment opportunities for models who didn't want to work for me. But, hey, fuck 'em if they can't take a joke. If you don't get the humor, you would really hate to meet me in person.
